• In a 50 mL beaker, pour about 5 mL of an octanoyl dichloride solution into the dichloromethane.
• Add a few drops of bromothymol Blue or phenolphtalein.
• Using a glass stirrer, pour delicately about 5 mL of a hexane - 1.6 - diamine solution into the hexane.
• Thanks to a metallic clamp, pull out the nylon thread which has appeared at the interface of the two phases, then wind it around the glass stirrer.

  CAUTION : octanoyl dichloride, dichloromethane, hexane and hexane - 1.6 - diamine must be manipulated under a hood, wearing gloves and safety goggles.
